Studio Art Classes

Studio Art Classes in Painting and Drawing
A life drawing class at the Boston School of Painting.

The Boston School of Painting offers fine art classes in drawing and oil painting as taught in the tradition of 18th and 19th century European ateliers.  Our figure drawing sessions (also known as life drawing) offer both male and female nude models. Studio art classes take place on Tuesday morning and evening, and on Friday and Saturday mornings. Our curriculum also features instruction in cast drawings created in charcoal.

Aart classes run continuously and include instruction in oil painting, drawing and the human figure.  Classes run mornings, evenings and weekends. We also offer various workshops through out the year. Please contact us to discuss your interests.

In the future, the new name of our art studio will change to Polins Atelier. The school is still located at 86 Joy St, Studio #51 Somerville, MA 02143.  Feel free to contact Jason Polins  at 617.372.6555 or e-mail at  You can find the studio on the second floor at the end of the corridor on the left.

The art studio is near the Cambridge/Somerville line a short walk from Lechmere Station on the MBTA Green Line close to Boston. Free parking is available for day and evening students.
